7 Best Photography Spots in Siargao, Philippines
Siargao is one of the most photogenic islands in Southeast Asia. I spent several months shooting here for surf brands, and personal projects. This guide covers the spots that deliver constantly good images, no matter what day you will go. The scenery in these spots speaks for itself.

01
Cloud 9 — The Iconic Surf Break
Cloud 9 is the most famous wave in the Philippines and a world-class surf photography location. The boardwalk gives you an elevated angle directly over the reef break — perfect for long-lens surf shots without getting in the water. For water photography, the channel on the right side of the reef is the safest entry. Bring a water housing and expect strong currents during high swell.
You can experiment a lot here — sometimes the best spot is on the Cloud 9 Tower, but don't forget the surrounding areas. Going a bit further from the last beach café spot (Shaka) can give you beautiful angles as well. In the "-BER" months of the year, there are surf competitions very regularly. That usually means a lot more people at the tower area, making it possible to capture the energy of the moment that Cloud 9 and the surf competitions bring.
02
Catangnan Bridge
The Catangnan-Cabitoonan Bridge — nicknamed the "Afam Bridge" — is the longest bridge in Siargao, linking Catangnan and Cabitoonan in General Luna. By late afternoon it becomes the island's favourite gathering point, with street vendors lining the approach and the sky turning orange, pink, and purple over the water below.
03
Sunset Spot in the Hills, Libertad
Tucked into the hills of Libertad between General Luna and Santa Fe, this elevated roadside viewpoint trades the busy beachfront for sweeping golden-hour light over the coast and coconut canopy. An under-the-radar alternative to the island's busier sunset spots, ideal for a slow evening ride and unobstructed wide-angle shots.
04
Santa Fe Beach (near Ocean 9)
The Santa Fe stretch near Ocean 9 offers a quieter, more local-feeling scene than General Luna's main strip — soft white sand backed by leaning coconut palms and gentle water that glows in warm afternoon light. A relaxed spot for beach walks and unhurried photography on the route north.
05
Coconut Road Photospot
Coconut Road is the classic Siargao image — towering coconut palms framing the highway, just up from Pacifico Beach in Pilar. A free, public roadside attraction with picturesque tropical scenery. A drone unlocks the best angles, but ground-level shots shine in soft light.
06
Secret Beach Photospot
For travellers chasing North Siargao's quieter side, this secluded cove rewards going off the beaten path — tucked away from the main beaches, framed by palms and rock, and rarely crowded. The kind of spot where you can shoot uninterrupted, with the raw, untouched scenery that makes the north so photogenic.
07
Roadview Photospot, Little Hawaii (Pacifico)
On the road into the Pacifico/Burgos area sits the hilltop lookout nicknamed "Little Hawaii" for its landscape — a roadside viewpoint the locals crown the "million-dollar view." A cliffside roadview capturing the contrast between turquoise water and white-sand shoreline, and one of North Siargao's most dramatic vantage points.
